College seeking adaptable staff

Located at the former North Kowloon Magistracy building, SCAD Hong Kong brings prestigious American art and design education, and professional career preparation to the city.

"As a student-centred organisation, SCAD seeks to provide an exceptional education and life-changing experience for students. We recruit the most talented professors and staff who are innovative, results-oriented and enjoy going the extra mile for our students," says Nickie Green, the school's director of human resources. "At the moment, we have 20 openings for staff and teaching positions combined."

The school - officially the Savannah College of Art and Design - is looking for qualified professionals across many disciplines, including admission, communications, student services, physical resources, animation, visual effects, game development and English as a second language.

All positions require qualifications, skills and experience. Beyond those requirements, Green says, candidates should be willing to take ownership, adapt quickly to a fast-growing, dynamic environment, communicate well, have a positive attitude and work well collaboratively.

"We need people who are willing to go beyond a set job description and take on a collaborative approach to helping one another and making the students' experience a positive one," Green says. "Each position does have a primary set of responsibilities, but SCAD's culture fosters individuals who are flexible, adaptable and willing to take on new responsibilities."

SCAD offers eight programmes.
