Deloitte keen to bolster HK office

With rapid expansion plans and succession strategies in the pipeline, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu will recruit more than 300 graduates and about 100 experienced executives for its Hong Kong office this year.

Graduate positions will include audit associates, enterprise risk services analysts, consulting analysts, financial advisory service associates and tax associates.

Deloitte is also keen to find individuals with three to five years' work experience for positions including senior associates for audit, and consultants and senior consultants for tax services and consulting.

Meanwhile, applicants for senior manager positions in business analytics and managerial roles in clients and markets should have eight to 10 years' relevant experience.

"Deloitte adopts a multidisciplinary approach in servicing our clients," says July Kong, director of human resources at Deloitte China. "Therefore, we look for individuals with multiple competencies and potentials."

When hiring for graduate positions, the company considers the applicant's academic results, experience and soft skills. "We recruit people who have a strong interest in the profession and potential to succeed," Kong says. Those with an analytical mind, good problem-solving and interpersonal skills, and an interest in and understanding of the business and regulatory practices on the mainland, are likely to stand out.

Kong adds that training will be provided to help non-accounting graduates acquire the necessary knowledge and skills of professional accounting examinations.
